Player of the Year

IGA Player of the Year points are awarded for finishes in IGA Championships, USGA qualifying, USGA Championships and PNGA Regional Championships. Points will be allocated to no more than the top 50% of any given field. Players finishing in a tie will receive the same number of points for that event. Players failing to make the cut receive no points.

2025 Player of the Year Standings

Players can, in fact, apply points across all divisions in which they are eligible, but points will only be applied upward in age. In other words, there are more opportunities to earn points in the Senior POY races than there are opportunities to earn points in the Men’s/Women’s points race.

Example: A senior men’s player finishes 6th in the State Amateur, earning 100 points across all divisions. A couple months later, he wins the Men’s Master-40 stroke play title, earning 150 points. He will have accumulated a total of 250 points in the Master-40 and Senior Men’s POY races, but his total in the Men’s and Mid-Amateur POY races remains 100 points.
