HOW IS THE TEAM SELECTED?
The Cup team has 12 total players from each association: eight men and four women with the men’s contingent comprised of four mid-amateurs (25 years of age or older), two men at 40 years or older, and two senior men of 55 years or older. The women’s delegation includes two mid-amateurs and two senior women 50 years of age or older.
The IGA utilizes the previous year’s player of the year standings as a guideline for selecting the team. The top eligible player of each demographic is guaranteed an invitation to the team. The PNGA Cup Committee then votes to select the remaining players for each demographic. The PNGA Cup Committee is comprised of the IGA President, IGA Vice President, and Chairperson of the Championships Committee.
